Manufacturing procedures

As a result of HÄUSSERMANN's innovative technology, diaphragm springs have become a precision component for the automotive industry.
The strengths of superior technology: minimal-warp quench- hardening with:

  • adherence to the narrowest force tolerances;
  • cranking of fingers for the optimal utilization of the design envelope in one operation;
  • shot peening operation individually and with controlled parameters: increase in service life by a multiple of between 2 and 5; reduced variation of life inside the production lot;
  • Scragging and load testing interlinked with last operation: 100% safety.

HÄUSSERMANN now offers XLife® for certain diaphragm springs*: a revolutionary manufacturing process that makes possible exceptionally high fatigue strenghts (alternating loads) on a very high stress level. The XLife® option can increase the number of load cycles by a factor of 10 or allows for a diaphragm spring with a 5% smaller outer diameter and at the same time a 9% reduction of material thickness. XLife® offers wholly new possibilities of performance improvements for installation- space-critical applications.
