Disc springs can have different characteristic curves; the best known are linear to degressive force increases and negative characteristic curve ranges. Progressive force increases of the characteristic curve before flatness (diagram) are realised with springs whose surface form is provided with special geometry, which rolls off suitably on the force-applying surface. HÄUSSERMANN has developed a special manufacturing process for this and has extensive development know-how. This design is used, among other things, in clutches of automatic transmissions, where it is a matter of setting a specific stiffness behaviour of the overall system.
